spicy stew osrs  is a hearty and delicious meal that can be cooked with minimal effort and ingredients. 

This easy recipe for a spicy stew from The Sims 4 can help you make an exotic meal with minimal input from the home cook.

Typically, clients who come to me for diet counseling are looking to lose weight or improve their health. 

But this recipe will do both of those things as well as give you some kitchen staples that may be difficult to find in your local grocery store. 

The first time I made this, I was fortunate enough to purchase all of the spices at my local health food store.

 If you can’t find these ingredients, you should be able to purchase the Jamaican pimento (allspice), cinnamon sticks, and ginger at your local grocery store.

Ingredients for The Sims 4 Recipe: Spicy Stew

1 medium onion

2-3 cloves of garlic (or 1/4 tsp ground garlic)

1 cup chopped bell pepper (red, orange, yellow) – 1 ea (chopped) (green chili if available instead of pepper) (adjust quantity to taste)

1/4 cup raisins or currants or any combination of dried fruit.

1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

2 cups diced pieces of pumpkin or squash (pumpkin or butternut squash) (adjust quantity to taste)

1 medium sweet potato, diced into 1-inch cubes (sweet potatoes are often sold in multiple sizes, so you can use any size depending on your preference.

 If you are using large sweet potatoes, cut them into eighths or thirds instead. Adjust quantity to taste

1/8 cup tomato paste (adjust quantity to taste. Add more for a thinner, saucier stew.)

1 tablespoon coconut oil (or your preference of cooking oil) (adjust quantity to taste)

2 cups chicken, beef, or vegetable broth (adjust quantity to taste)

1 tablespoon garam masala or curry powder (adjust quantity to taste) – Other types of curry will work as well.

 I like the flavor of garam masala and it can be found at most grocery stores. Many recipes call for turmeric, which can be difficult to find.

 If you can’t find either of these spices, don’t worry. The recipe will still taste good without them!

1/4 teaspoon ground allspice (adjust quantity to taste)

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (adjust quantity to taste) – It is called “ground”, but this might actually mean cinnamon sticks. 

I’ve never had a problem finding whole cinnamon sticks at the grocery store and the flavor is better than powder or cinnamon extract.

1/8 cup fresh ginger (adjust quantity to taste) If you have trouble finding fresh ginger, you can substitute ground ginger or powdered ginger instead.

 Most recipes for Jamaican stew specify ground ginger, but I like the flavor of fresh ginger. You can also use crystallized ginger, which is very similar.

1/8 teaspoon nutmeg (adjust quantity to taste) – I use smart balance oil for all of my frying needs, so I have no idea how this will affect the results. 

If you are concerned about fat content, feel free to substitute another oil for this ingredient.

Directions for The Sims 4 Recipe: Spicy Stew

Chop your veggies into 1-inch cubes or larger depending on your preference. Dice your sweet potato into 1-inch cubes if you’re using large sweet potatoes. 

You can use a pre-made or homemade puree to substitute for the tomatoes and sweet potato.

 I had a large sweet potato that I had leftover from a previous recipe, so I used it instead of a pre-made puree. 

Cook the onions, garlic, bell peppers, and ginger in the coconut oil until they are soft. Add any remaining veggies and cook until they are softly tender. 

Add the remaining ingredients except for your dried fruit of your choice and simmer on low for as long as you’re able to resist eating it all! 

Seriously, this stuff smells delicious as it’s cooking. It really is like the scent of a Jamaican pimento market.

If you decide to use fresh pumpkin or squash, make sure to remove the seeds and cut it into 1-inch cubes (if you can).

 Cooking time and quantities may vary for sweet potatoes and pumpkin/squash. It will depend on how large they are and how much you have. 

Make sure to taste your soup before adding salt at the end since most store-bought broths are very salty. Add the fresh fruit to the soup for the last couple of minutes of cooking.
