It’s not a surprise to hear about people going to hair salons for their hair cuts, buying hair care products and vlogs about how to make your own. There are a lot of people who are taking their hair care into their own hands. Another common misconception is that it can be difficult or expensive to get a good haircut, but that isn’t the case! In this blog post two front strands of hair dyed curly hair, I will be telling you some ways in which you can improve your hairstyle, such as scrunching tactics or shampooing techniques.

1. Scrunching

Scrunching is a very simple technique that can help to keep your curls looking great. When your hair dries, it reverts back to its natural state which may not be what you want, this is why you scrunch it! It will take some practice but once you master the technique you will be able to get the look of big, bouncy curls.

2.Shampoo

Shampoo is one of those products that many people think they have tried at least once in their lives but have gone on not knowing how to use it properly. When adding shampoo to your routine, it is important to remember that you should use a lot of conditioner and apply it to damp hair. After applying conditioner, rinse it out thoroughly and follow up with some dry shampoo.

3. Hair Drying Techniques

One of the tricks that you can use to get more volume in your hair is by drying them upside down. Having your hair wet will cause it to lose its curl but if you let it air dry upside down the curls will stay. If need be, a small amount of hairspray can be applied while upside down which will seal off the curls and add even more volume.

4. Hairspray

Hairspray is a great way to set your curls, and it can also give your hair extra volume. The only downside being that when you wash your hair out, the extra volume will go away. To remedy this, use hairspray on dry hair to get the maximum amount of volume that can be kept until the next wash. This will make you feel as if you have gone to a salon.

5. Hair styling products

There are many different types of products that you can use to style your hair; my favorite is gel which I think gives my curls longevity and keeps them in place for longer periods of time between washes. One thing that I have learnt is that if you wash your hair too often, natural oils may be washed out resulting in brittle, dry hair. This is why it’s important to find a good balance.

6. Don’t Wash Your Hair Too Often

This is something that I just previously mentioned so I will reiterate this point to everyone. When washing your hair, the natural oils found inside your scalp are washed out in the process which make your hair feel very brittle and dry. In order to mitigate this issue, try to not wash your hair every day or even every other day but instead, opt for once a week at the most.

7. Dry shampoo

Dry shampoo is one of my favorite products as it allows me to wash my hair without worrying about it drying out. If you are like me and don’t like using dry shampoo on wet hair, then make sure that you have some styling products to finish off the look of your hair after a wash.

8. Styling Products

For those who really love to wear their hair down, they may feel that they need styling products in order to have the look they want. There are many different options available such as mousse which helps to add volume and lift your curls but is also suitable for those who do not have much natural curl or want more control on how their curls will turn out.

9. Heat Tools

There are many different types of heat tools that you can use to style your hair. I personally like using a straightener to get really shiny, sleek looking hair. When using heat tools, it is very important that you are careful with how long you keep them in one area for. Make sure that you don’t hold them down for too long as this will damage your hair and cause it to become brittle.

10. Get A Cutlery Comb

If you want to wear your hair up or down, having a comb and hairspray at hand can be very advantageous as it allows you to keep your hair out of the way so that people won’t get tangled in it. By tucking your hair behind your head, you are able to be more creative with how you style your curls. If you want to make sure that the hair is easy to access, then a comb and a few hair sprays can be very helpful.

11. Hot Air Curl Wands

Having a hot air curler wand is a great product as it is similar to what professionals use. This will give your hair more of the natural look without having to spend an immense amount of time styling it.
